In search of accumulation...
Today began cold and grey with light snow. Since snow is usually pretty scarce around here and John had the day off for the MLK holiday, we took a quick hike up House Mountain in search of a little accumulation.

Flurries continued to fall and we did find a little more snow near the top. This is, however not a big snow.
Stark, brown trees are a nice contrast to the white snow and grey sky
Nice way to enjoy a day off!
House Mountain is an easy 30 minute drive from downtown Knoxville. We arrived at the parking lot and were not surprised to find the lot full of cars and trucks. Many others seemed to have the same idea.

Fun way to spend the day off. I've never lived so close to a place that had snow. Going to see snow has always been an all day event or usually more.
